A Bayside man has been sentenced after a St. Stephen RCMP drug trafficking investigation that began in 2025.
Officers executed a search warrant at a home on Highway 127 in Bayside on Nov. 27, 2025.
The RCMP said officers seized drugs, ammunition and drug‑trafficking paraphernalia during the search, and arrested a 22‑year‑old man without incident.
Police said Miles Burton Johnson Jr. appeared in Saint John Provincial Court the next day.
He was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage of firearms and failure to comply with a release order.
Johnson was sentenced on Tuesday to 25 and a half months in custody, according to police.
Mounties said he must submit a DNA sample, forfeit all items seized during the investigation and is under a 10‑year firearms prohibition.
“I am extremely proud of the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by our frontline members throughout this investigation,” Sgt. Pierre Ladouceur said in the release.
He added that the outcome reflects the impact of their work and their commitment to public safety.
The St. Stephen RCMP said it remains focused on addressing illegal drug activity and improving community safety through proactive enforcement and strong investigative work.
