Arrest Made In Puppy Swinging Incident

Police in Nova Scotia have charged a woman in relation to an incident last week involving the alleged mistreatment of a dog.

Halifax Regional Police responded to an altercation between a group of women in Dartmouth on the afternoon of Canada Day.

The fight, involving a woman swinging a puppy by its leash, was recorded and posted online.

Police became aware of the video several days later and, after an investigation, arrested a 27-year-old woman on Wednesday.

Clarissa Angela Crawley of Dartmouth is facing charges of assault with a weapon and willfully causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

She was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Wednesday.
