Another boil water order possible in St. Stephen

St. Stephen residents are being told to prepare for the potential of another boil water order.

Planned work is taking place on the municipality’s potable water system on Wednesday.

Officials said the work is needed following a recent pump failure that led to a nearly two-week boil water order.

“While this work is being conducted in a manner to avoid the need for an additional Boil Water Advisory, given the nature of the work avoiding such a result cannot be guaranteed,” the town said in a message to residents on Tuesday.

Residents are advised to take the necessary actions to prepare for a boil water order should one be deemed necessary by the Department of Health.
