Adjust the clocks and don’t forget to change the batteries

You’ll get an extra hour of sleep this weekend.

That’s because you’ll need to move the clocks back an hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.

Atlantic Canada will end daylight saving time for 2026 at 2 am on Sunday.

Other provinces are choosing not to adjust their clocks and will remain on daylight saving time. That includes most of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Yukon, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, and parts of Northwestern Ontario; they won’t be changing their clocks on Sunday morning.

Quebec says 2026 is the last year they’ll make the change.

Another reminder as you adjust those clocks, this one from fire departments.

Don’t forget to change the batteries in your smoke detectors, and make sure they are in good working order. Fire Chiefs say it is a good habit to have when changing the clocks each year.
