It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edward (Eddie) Charles Hatt of Ottawa, Ontario, formerly of Back Bay, New Brunswick.

Above all else, Eddie was a devoted father. His two sons, Shea Charles Hatt and Luka Hatt, were his greatest joy, his greatest pride, and his greatest achievement. He absolutely adored his boys, and being their dad was one of the most important parts of his life.

Eddie was the much-loved son of Carol Ann and the late Edward Charles Hatt Sr., and grandson of the late Frances (McGee) and Murchie Mitchell.

He was a dedicated professional who built a highly successful career as an engineer in the cybersecurity field. His immense talent, leadership, and technical expertise were well-recognized during his nearly 10 years of service with Bell Canada, and most recently as a trusted independent cybersecurity consultant and vCISO through his own firm, Hatt Cybersecurity Consulting.

Known to many who grew up with him as “Little Eddie,” Eddie was incredibly smart and had a wonderful sense of humour. He was kind, loving, and extremely generous, and he loved his people deeply. Eddie loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed playing softball, hunting, and fishing. Whether through his generosity, his humour, or simply being there for the people he cared about, Eddie had a way of leaving a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.

The family invites you to a Celebration of Life which will be held October 3rd, 2026 at Seaview Full Gospel Church at 11 am in Back Bay, New Brunswick.
