Death in Shenstone now considered a homicide

RCMP have released the name of a man found dead in a home on Route 910 in Shenstone.

The body of 57-year-old Michael Eric Claude Steeves was discovered on August 4, and his death is now being investigated as a homicide.

Police are now looking to speak with a man who stopped and spoke with an individual walking on Route 910 in the Shenstone and Hillsborough areas on the evening of August 2, or early morning on August 3.

They would also like to locate a woman who may have provided transportation to an individual, either on Route 910 between Shenstone and Hillsborough or on Main Street in Hillsborough, during the same time frames.

Anyone who was in the area at the time, or has information, is asked to contact the New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267) or by email at jdiv.mcu@rcmpgrc.gc.ca
