Water Cooler Talk (August 3 – August 9)

Here’s 5 interesting things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!

1: You probably know that New Brunswick is home to the Bay of Fundy, which has the highest tides in the world (up to 16 meters or 52 feet) – but, did you know that about 80% of the NB is covered in untouched forest?

2: New Brunswick is Canada’s only officially bilingual province, with English and French having equal status.

3: NB is home to Canada’s longest covered bridge: located in Hartland and stretching 390 meters (1,282 feet) across the Saint John River.

4: Did you know that New Brunswick is considered the “french fry capitol of the world”? Florenceville-Bristol produces a massive share of the world’s frozen french fries!

5: Established in 1785, the University of New Brunswick is the oldest English-language public university in North America.
