Water Cooler Talk (May 25 – May 31)

Here’s 5 interesting things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!

1: Basking Sharks, which inhabit the Passamaquoddy Bay during the summer, travel as far south as Cuba every winter.

2: Neptune, the eighth and most distant planet from the Sun, is an icy giant known for its deep blue color and supersonic winds. Located roughly 4.5 billion kilometers away, it was the first planet discovered entirely through mathematical calculations rather than direct observation.

3: June bugs are notoriously drawn to artificial lighting. They are clumsy flyers and often exhaust themselves by continuously crashing into windows or screens.

4: The oldest known mattress dates back about 77,000 years ago and was found in South Africa. It consisted of woven plant materials stacked to keep bugs and crawling insects away.

5: The top-grossing movie in theaters during May 1976 was the Watergate political thriller “All the President’s Men”, Starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman.
