1951 – 2026
The family are broken-hearted to announce the passing of Patricia Ann Gardner of McAdam, NB. at the age of 74 on Monday May 11th, 2026, at the Palliative Care Unit of Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. Patricia was born on August 12th, 1951, in Macaan, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late David and Jean (Hurley) Roberts of McAdam.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, D. Roger Gardner of McAdam, her son Dwain (Shannon), McAdam, granddaughters Ceirra (Kyle) and Chantal (Jared) all of McAdam. Also she leaves behind the light of her life, her precious great granddaughter Stella Perley of McAdam, her two sisters Jean Copp (Garnet) and Joan Walsh (David), nephews David McLaughlin (Ralee), Hank Etheridge (Tanya), Daniel McLaughlin (Lisa) and niece Audrey Gillespie (Nick), several cousins, uncles, and aunts and a special aunt Muriel Mercer (Clayton) and her many friends and especially her church family at Turning Point Church in Harvey, NB.
Patricia was an avid baker and would be the first to cook something for anyone she felt needed a special treat. If a family was grieving at the loss of a loved one, she would be the first to deliver food to them – it was her nature to think of others. She was a faithful member of her church and will be sadly missed. She so enjoyed her time with her little great granddaughter, having her at her home and taking her for walks in the stroller. Stella meant everything to her. Her sisters are grieving the loss of their driver on all their day and overnight trips and will hold on to the memories of the time they spent together.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, David and Jean Roberts, and her oldest son Johnny.
Visitation will be held at Turning Point Pentecostal Church, Harvey, NB. Thursday May 14th, 2026, from 5pm-8pm and Friday May 15th 12pm-2pm with funeral services following on Friday May 15th, 2026, at 2pm with Rev. Roger Cole officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by her nephew David McLaughlin who will also be the soloist. Internment will take place in Rockland Cemetery in McAdam, NB.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Little, Tommy Laking, Scott Riley, Phillip Gaines, Charles Riley, and John Everett.
Active pallbearers are Dwain Gardner, Davey McLaughlin, Luke Riley, Jake Rilley, Kyle Perley, and Jared Boon.
