Today is Mother’s Day — a special day set aside to celebrate the incredible moms, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster moms, and mother figures who help shape our lives every single day.
Mother’s Day has been officially celebrated for more than 100 years, first recognized in the early 1900s as a way to honour the love, sacrifice, and dedication of mothers everywhere. Today, families across Charlotte County, New Brunswick, and around the world are marking the occasion with flowers, cards, phone calls, family dinners, and quality time together.
Being a mom is one of the toughest jobs there is — filled with early mornings, late nights, endless support, and unconditional love. Whether it’s cheering from the sidelines, helping with homework, offering advice, or simply being there when needed most, mothers play an important role in our homes and communities.
Mother’s Day is also a reminder to appreciate the simple moments — a hug, a visit, or even a quick phone call can mean the world. For many, today is also a time to remember and honour mothers who are no longer with us, while celebrating the memories and lessons they left behind.
So today, if you can, take a moment to thank the moms and mother figures in your life for everything they do. From all of us here at 98.1 Charlotte FM, Happy Mother’s Day!
