1925-2026
With sadness, we announce the death of Amy May (Jelley) Gaudett. She died on April 22, 2026 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB at the age of 101 years.
Born in Unionvale, PEI, on January 17, 1925, she was the youngest daughter of the late Ward and Edna (Harris) Jelley. Amy left the family farm on PEI in 1943 to go to Saint John, NB. She lived and worked in the city for several years before relocating to Blacks Harbour, NB, in the early 50s. She was employed at Connors Brothers Ltd for 35 years, first in the office of the Connors Brothers Shopping Centre and then at Connors Brothers Main Office. She and her husband, Sheldon, moved to Pennfield in 1974. She remained at home in Pennfield until her move in April of 2022 to Howe Hall at Shannex Parkland in Saint John. Amy was a member of the Pennfield Baptist Church and sang in the choir for 15 years. She loved to crochet and enjoyed many hours with word seek puzzles in her later years.
Amy will be greatly missed by her daughter, Norma Gaudet Nixon of St. Andrews NB. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Grace Kelson of Lake Utopia NB and Thresea Gaudett of Blacks Harbour NB.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon Gaudett in February 2022. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Alvah Jelley and Leith Jelley of PEI and her sister, Bernice (Clifton) Leavitt of Pennfield NB.
Thanks to the nurses and staff of the Emergency Department and on 3C South at the Saint John Regional Hospital for all their care and support.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. A service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Monday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Greg Card officiating followed by the interment in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting will take place at the funeral home chapel beginning at 12:00 noon on Monday until service time. In Amy’s memory, donations to the Salvation Army or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
