1966 – 2026
Nancy Eileen MacDonald (December 5, 1966 – April 10, 2026)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Nancy Eileen MacDonald, of St. Stephen NB, announce her unexpected passing on April 10, 2026. Nancy was a beloved mother to two children and Mammy to four. Her death leaves a void that her family cannot fill.
Nancy was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, in 1966 to Jeannine and Gerald Grant. From an early age, she developed a deep love for animals, a passion lovingly nurtured by her mother. She held a special affection for horses and shared an especially close bond with her beloved dog, Callie, who was her constant companion.
Throughout her life, Nancy worked in a variety of roles, where her warm spirit shone brightly. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter and genuine kindness, often brightening the days of those she met, whether at the Ganong Chocolate Museum or the local dollar store.
Nancy was also a gifted jewelry maker who found great joy in creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces. She delighted in sharing her creations with family and friends, offering them as heartfelt expressions of her love.
Nancy’s favourite role was being Mammy to Cooper, Chase, Wesley and Cohen, who were her absolute pride and joy. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided.
Nancy took special joy in spoiling her grandchildren, often to the annoyance of her children Ashley and Chelsey.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Gerald Grant, and is survived by her mother Jeannine Grant, husband Lance Thomas, children Ashley Grant – MacDonald (Tim), and Chelsey MacDonald (Taylor), stepsons Joe and brother Allen Grant (Donna), and grandchildren Cooper Hovey, Chase Hovey, Wesley Bishop and Cohen McShane. She is also survived by her niece Shaelynn Grant (Geoffrey), nephew Brandon Grant (Paige), many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. All of whom will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
At this time there will be no funeral service, a private graveside service will be held at a later date this Summer. In lieu of flowers donations in her name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
