Water Cooler Talk (April 13 – April 19)

Here’s 5 interesting things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!

1:  The Todd Mansion, on 45 Union Street in St. Stephen, was built between 1890 and 1895. Original owner William F. Todd was an industrialist in the lumber trade. He also raised thoroughbred horses. He represented Charlotte County in the House of Assembly from 1899-1903, the House of Commons from 1908-1911; and was Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick from 1923-1928.

2: A single dandelion plant can produce over 5,000 seeds per year, which travel by wind thanks to a unique, efficient pappus (fluffy, white, hairy structure).

3: About 90% of people have ‘innie’ belly buttons, while only around 10% have ‘outies’.

4: According to sales records, Ray-Ban Sunglasses were the hottest fashion trend of 1986, thanks to them being heavily featured in the film ‘Top Gun’.

5: The top 3 most popular shows on television in April of 1996 were ‘ER’, ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Friends’; all of which aired on NBC.
