1947 – 2026
It is with broken hearts that the family of Charlotte Frost, wife of the late Theodore Junior Frost, announces her passing, which occurred on 2026-04-05 at the Grand Manan Hospital in Grand Manan, New Brunswick.
Born on Grand Manan, New Brunswick, on 1947-08-28. She was the daughter of the late Ottawa and Hildred Benson.
Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was predeceased by her husband, three brothers, two sisters, and one stepson.
She is survived by her daughter Shelley; John Griffin; Jane; Fred Alchorn; Jeff; Brenda Frost; Bev; Sue Frost; Melanie; Donald Rose, Monica Frost, sisters Bonny (Eben) Gaskill,
Jacqueline “Tiny” Benson, special grandchildren Daniel (Renelle Frost, Jeb Frost and several other grandchildren, nieices and nephews.
Charlotte worked many jobs throughout her life, from clerking at McLaughlin’s General Store, the Surfside with Beulah Griffin, Cleaning jobs for many elderly residents and House Keeping for several families. Charlotte was best known for her restaurant days. Pizzas, subs, and pizza burgers were her speciality and to this day, people recall how much they loved her food.
This period also marked Charlotte’s courageous journey to overcome addiction, and she was proud to tell anyone she was so many years sober. She transitioned to another career bookkeeping and working at Fundy Aquaculture. Charlotte eventually retired from the company, but definitely not work. She then created her own Bookkeeping business. Charlotte was that person who if she couldn’t help you herself, she would try her best to find a solution somewhere.
Charlotte enjoyed traveling with family and friends, Golf trips, bluegrass festivals or just a trip to see family. Working with her daughter sharing her bookkeeping expertise and knowledge was her last career until her health began to decline and she had to give it all up. A year ago, October. She moved in with her daughter and son in law after her condition progressed and later transitioned to the Grand Manan nursing home—a difficult change for her, yet one she quickly adjusted to thanks to her warm, social nature. Instantly making new friends. Along with dementia, Charlotte also battled pulmonary fibrosis, which ultimately led to her final hospital stay.
A service of remembrance will be held at the Immanuel Family Church (749 Rte. 776, Grand Manan, NB) on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00pm with Rev Ward McComiskey officiating. There will be a social time immediately following the service.
