Water Cooler Talk (April 6 – April 12)

Here’s 5 interesting things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!

1:  The Giddens Memorial Airport is situated on 44 acres, one kilometre from the St. Stephen town limits. It has a 3000′ x 75′ lighted runway. The Airport is used by a number of Federal and Provincial agencies including the RCMP, Air Ambulance, Forest Protection, Coast Guard Search and Rescue, St. Croix Flying Club, as well as several charter services.

2: When threatened, Garter Snakes release a foul-smelling musk. They can also bite, although their venom is too weak to harm humans.

3: The knee bears the brunt of the body’s weight during movement, making it prone to injuries.

4: According to sales records, ketchup chips were the most popular snack food among Canadians in the 2010’s.

5: The most popular film of the year in 1976; 50 years ago this year, was “Rocky”, starring Sylvester Stallone. The screenplay was written by Stallone himself and the film would go on to win three Oscars, including Best Picture.
