Water Cooler Talk (March 23 – March 29)

Here’s 5 interesting things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!

1: Did you know that the original Charlotte County Hospital (The Chipman Memorial Hospital) in St. Stephen was one of the very first in New Brunswick to use x-ray technology? An x-ray machine was purchased in 1920, with funds raised through community donations! That tradition continues today with our annual Charlotte FM Radiothon, held every October!

2: Due to increased light and warmth, children actually grow faster in the spring than in other seasons!

3: Your nose hairs (which are called vibrissae) act as vital natural air filters; trapping dust, pollen, and bacteria to protect the lungs.

4: Grass is the world’s most abundant plant family (Poaceae), covering over 40% of non-polar land and even growing in Antarctica!

5: The most popular TV show 30 years ago this month was The Simpsons – which is also still airing new episodes today!
