Moncton man guilty of double murder in Dieppe

A man accused of the first-degree murders of a Dieppe couple has been found guilty.

According to several media reports, it took a jury five days of deliberation in the Janson Baker case.

The verdict was delivered on Monday night, eight weeks after the trial began.

Baker was charged in 2023 for the deaths of 78-year-old Bernard and 74-year-old Rose-Marie Saulnier, who were found shot dead in their home in 2019.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 7.
