1957-2026
The passing of Kenneth “Kenny” Arthur Johnson of Breadalbane NB occurred unexpectedly at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton NB on January 27, 2026. Born in St. Stephen NB on July 26, 1957, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Gloria (Tinker) Johnson.
A loving father, grandfather, partner and brother, Kenny is survived by his son Matthew (Christina) Johnson of Breadalbane NB and their children, Claudia, Carter and Jaylee; his daughter Keri-Jo (Shannon) Pitts of Breadalbane NB and their children Malachi, Kensley, Christopher, Tyler and Kaylee; the mother of his children, Debbie; his significant other, Val Hunter; his chosen son, Glen (Darcy) Hunter of Fredericton NB and chosen grandchildren Brynn Anderson, Brady Anderson and Hunter Harding; one brother, Allan (Fonda) Johnson of Harvey NB; one sister, Eleanor (Robin) Craig of St. Andrews NB; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his chosen daughter, Tina Harding.
Prior to his retirement, Kenny worked with various employers throughout the county, including the Town of St. George where he was active in the construction of the Day Adventure Centre and also the playground project in St. Andrews. He ultimately retired from Connor’s Brothers in Blacks Harbour where he had worked for over 20 years. Kenny was known as a jack of all trades and an avid craftsman who was known for creating, purchasing and restoring model boats and also tinkered in rock carving. He was also a wonderful gardener who took great pride in his yearly harvest. In his free time, Kenny was also known as a buyer and enjoyed attending many estate sales.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Cornerstone Tabernacle, St. George NB with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will be held at the church on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Pastor James Berdan officiating. In Kenny’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
