Emergency Food Drive

As a result of a fire at Granite Court in St. George which houses seniors’ apartments, community living center & the St. George & Area Food Bank, 98.1 Charlotte FM will team up with Hillary’s Hope for Hunger and hold an Emergency Food Drive this Saturday, January 10th from 9am – 4pm at the Masonic Lodge, 2 Carleton Street in St. George.

We will be collecting food & cash donations to help restock the shelves of the food bank.

98.1 Charlotte FM will broadcast on location. Mark Downey & Cory Morrow will both be on site accepting your donations.

  • Mark Downey started in radio broadcasting in 2001 when NB Broadcasting, now Acadia Broadcasting launched a Country Radio station in his hometown of St. Stephen.  He's the morning show host of 98.1 Charlotte FM and the mid-day host on Country 94.  On Sunday evenings, Mark also hosts the classic country show, The Weekend Jamboree.  He owns his own mobile Wedding DJ Business performing at hundreds of weddings over the years.  Mark was inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame in October 2025.
