Linda Lou Needle (Kinney), age 80 passed away Wednesday November 19th 2025. She was born on November 15, 1945 daughter of the late James and Norma Kinney (Sherwood).
She was survived by her sisters Josephine Johnson, Kathleen Ellen McGraw, Anita Stevens, and Laura Faye Hillier. She was also survived by sons William (Jimmy) (Lisa), Christopher and daughter Shannon (Scott).
Linda was a shining light to all those that had the privilege to know her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, sadness, compassion and unwavering faith in Jehovah God. She began this journey on November 15, 1945 (parents late James and Norma Kinney (Sherwood)) and grew up in Second Falls.
She met, fell in love and married the late William (Bill) Roy Needle.
As many other people their age, Bill and Linda moved to Ontario to find work but realized after having their first born, William James (Jimmy) Needle that the only place for them to be was back home in Second Falls New Brunswick.
They welcomed two more children; Christopher Shawn (Chris) and Shannon Lee before a tragic woods accident took Bill from them in 1974. Linda never gave up and it was soon after his passing that she started to study the bible with the Jehovah’s Witnesses and remained a loyal follower until her passing.
Linda was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1978 and although she suffered many hospital stays over the years, she remained positive and uplifting; a true example of resilience and strength.
She provided a home that was welcoming to all. As the kids were growing up, the electric skillet was always on in the kitchen and usually one would find some type of hash frying in it; the smell of fried onions almost like a beacon.
Linda loved her grandchildren Zachary, Josie, Justin and Shealynne deeply as well as her great grandchildren, Vada, Brenna, Remington, Leo and Noah. Spending time with them all was something that she cherished and always looked forward to.
She also loved animals and fed all the turkeys and cats and other types of animals she could find that needed help.
Linda also loved to travel and often carried her passport with her at all times….just in case. She went on many cruises, and although hated wearing sunscreen loved the warmth of the sun on her face. She had an unquenchable thirst for studying the bible. She often spent hours reading the scriptures as well as her magazines.
Although not one to cook much for herself, she always loved to put a roast on for company and in the later years, loved being treated to her son Chris’s daily homemade meals.
If you could sum up Linda you would say she loved to laugh and had true compassion and empathy for everyone she met. She had a great love for Jehovah, a great love of talking on the telephone, a great love of listening to country music, flowers and a great love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sisters and all the others that were part of her life.
The life of Linda will serve as a role model to all those that knew her and she will be missed terribly.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday December 13 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses ( 9161 NB-3, Old Ridge, NB) . The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. Please use the below link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81916703258?pwd=cGThVpjgP2G3kvfFsEW6AriLvfqb7x.1
