Stolen items, firearm recovered after Summerville break-in

A 34-year-old man has been arrested after police recovered stolen items and a firearm following a break and enter in Summerville.

RCMP say officers responded to a report of a break-in at a home in Summerville on Tuesday.

The suspect fled before police arrived, and no injuries were reported.

A short time later, with help from the Saint John Police Force, the RCMP arrested a man without incident.

Investigators say a search of a home and vehicle led to the recovery of stolen items and an unauthorized firearm.

The man from Fairfield, east of Saint John near the Fundy coast, appeared in court on Wednesday.

He was charged with break and enter, along with possession of property obtained by crime and remains in custody.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact the Grand Bay-Westfield RCMP at 506-757-1020.
