Saint John fireworks back on after fire ban postponement

Saint John residents will finally get their fireworks celebration, just a little later than planned.

The City of Saint John has announced that the Canada Day fireworks will now take place on September 27 at 9 p.m.

They had postponed it earlier this summer because of poor weather and a provincial fire ban.

The event will be held at Lower Cove Loop, with a rain date set for Sunday, September 28, at the same time and location.

The city said it’s excited to host the event and thanked residents for their patience while waiting for safe conditions.
