18-day roadwork project on Union Street

Drivers and pedestrians in Saint John should prepare for a traffic change on Union Street.

The city says traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions between Charlotte Street and Smythe Street to allow for road repairs and reconstruction.

The work is scheduled to take place daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Thursday and is expected to last for 18 days.

The city added that road and sidewalk signage will be in place to help guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the area.

Drivers are being asked to use caution and remain alert for workers and foot traffic
