Trump found guilty of sexual battery

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has been found guilty by a Manhattan jury of sexual battery.

Trump had been accused of abusing magazine writer E. Jean Carroll during the 90’s, then defaming her by calling her a liar his social media platform.

He has been ordered to pay $5 million in damages.

The decision, however, clears him of rape and due to it being a civil case has no criminal consequences.

Trump is currently seeking the Republican nomination for the 2024 election and this could be seen as a setback for his campaign.
