Fire Breaks Out On HMCS Fredericton Near Norway

There are no injuries after a fire broke out on HMCS Fredericton while the ship was off the coast of Norway.

The Canadian military is reporting the fire happened in the engine room of the Halifax-class frigate early this morning.

The crew quickly extinguished it, and the vessel is heading to a Norwegian port for repairs.

HMCS Fredericton had been participating in a NATO training exercise when the fire broke out.

No word on the cause or the extent of the damage.
