A passenger onboard a flight that arrived at the Greater Moncton Romeo Leblanc International Airport last week has tested positive for COVID-19.
Government spokesperson Bruce MacFarlane says they received the notification through the Public Heath Agency of Canada.
It revealed the individual was a passenger on WestJet flight 3456 from Toronto. It landed at 1:52 p.m. on on April 27.
Public Health is asking anyone who was on this flight, to self isolate for 14 days and call 811 if you develop symptoms.
Public Health has determined the person was not tested in New Brunswick but they are still looking into whether they are currently in or outside the province.
New Brunswick has had no diagnosed cases for 16 days. P.E.I. reported its last diagnosed case on April 28 and it was connected to international travel.
MacFarlane says they are currently trying to obtain more information.
