Freezing Rain And Snow This Week

A special weather statement has been issued for the province.

Environment Canada is warning of possible freezing rain and snow.

The statement says periods of snow will begin overnight Monday night over central and northern New Brunswick

Meteorologist Roberta McArthur said there will be a rain/snow boundary beginning to form Tuesday morning over southern parts of New Brunswick.

“Precipitation will remain as snow, expected to remain as snow for northern New Brunswick,” she said.

Snowfall is expected to be 10 to 20 centimetres for central to northern areas and up to five centimetres for southern areas.

“This system will continue into Wednesday morning where we could see a prolonged period of freezing rain more for the Fredericton and potential Moncton region into Wednesday morning as it pushes away,” McArthur said.

Environment Canada is asking residents to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts.
