Woman Hit By Own Vehicle In Parking Lot

An 80-year-old woman was taken to the hospital Wednesday after being hit by her own vehicle in a Saint John parking lot.

Sgt. Ron Cooper of the Saint John Police Force said emergency crews were called to the parking lot of Dollarama at Prince Edward Square mall around 6:15 p.m.

Cooper said the woman’s five-year-old great-grandson accidentally knocked the minivan into gear while she was putting parcels in the back.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance with a shoulder injury, he said.
