Mental health will be on the minds of many today. It is Bell Let’s Talk Day.
It launched in 2010 with a focus on raising awareness, acceptance and action in mental health.
Since then, Canadians are talking more about it.
The theme of the 10th annual Bell Let’s Talk Day campaign is Mental Health: Every Action Counts.
A recent survey by Nielsen Consumer Insights found 84 per cent of Canadians are now comfortable with talking to others about mental health. That’s a big increase over the 42 per cent in 2012.
Bell will donate five cents for every applicable text, call, tweet, social media video view, and use of their Bell Let’s Talk Day Facebook frame or Snapchat filter.
Since the launch, Canadians and people around the world have sent a total of more than 1 billion messages of support for mental health, bringing Bell’s total commitment to nearly $100.7 million.
