2026 Dog Bowl Champions

The 2nd Dog Bowl was at TD Station in Saint John last weekend – a regional high school hockey tournament put on by the Sea Dogs – with two divisions:

AA Division

Harbour View High School,
Saint John High School,
Simonds High School and
Hampton High School

AAA Division

Kennebecasis Valley High School,
St. Malachy’s Memorial High School,
St. Stephen High School, and
the defending champions, Sussex Regional High School

Congratulations to the Hampton High School Huskies for the AA division win, and the St. Stephen High School Spartans in the AAA division!

The MVP of the tournament – selected by the Sea Dogs’ hockey operations staff – actually gets invited to the Sea Dogs training camp next August. So, it’s a big deal!

Congratulations to the 2026 Dog Bowl Most Valuable Player with 95 saves in two games, St. Stephen Spartans goaltender, Daniel Blanchard!

Thank you and congratulations to everybody who took part this weekend. Hopefully, the Dog Bowl will be back for year #3 in 2026!

  • Nesta is my name. It’s not short for anything; it’s ancient Welsh and means “firstborn” – though, my parents had no idea when they gave it to me. They read it in a cowboy book called “Arizona Ames.” Worked out – I am their firstborn!

I was born in New Brunswick but dad was an F-18 test pilot so I grew up on Air Force bases all over Canada and the world. It feels good to come full circle, back home to Atlantic Canada to raise my family.

My youngest babe started kindergarten this year and my oldest middle school, so I spend my free time trekking them to extra-curriculars – when not working on house renos. So many house renos. The husband is a chef – very handy since I love food, books & digging in dirt but my real hobby is collecting hobbies.  I’m a sucker for a good workshop. There’s always something new and exciting to learn.
