SUMMARY:Our of Survival Mode
DESCRIPTION:Life can look fine on the outside and still feel like you’re running on empty inside. \nIf you’re constantly on edge\, easily triggered\, exhausted no matter how much you rest\, or just getting through the day in survival mode—this workshop is for you. \nIn partnership with Union Street Atlantic Baptist Church\, I’ll be hosting a free in-person workshop designed to help you begin understanding what’s actually happening beneath the overwhelm. \nThis is not about pushing harder or trying to “fix” yourself. It’s about learning how your nervous system has been working to protect you—and how to gently begin shifting out of survival patterns that are keeping you stuck. \nIn this workshop\, we’ll explore: \nWhat survival mode actually looks like in everyday motherhood\nWhy your reactions make sense (even when they feel frustrating)\nHow trauma responses show up in your daily life\nThe first steps toward feeling more grounded\, present\, and in control \nYou don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to be “further along.” You just need to show up as you are. \n Union Street Atlantic Baptist Church\n May 23rd\n 10:00 AM\n Free event \nCome as you are. Leave with language for what you’ve been experiencing—and a clearer sense of what healing can actually look like from here. \nSpots are limited. RSVP details below:\nworkshop.mamahoodaftertrauma.ca/outofsurvivalmode

SUMMARY:St. Stephen Middle School presents - Social Media VS Humanity
DESCRIPTION:SSMS Drama Club presents Social Media VS Humanity on Tuesday\, April 28th at 6pm at the SSMS auditorium. \nEntrance is by cash donation. \n\nIn Social Media v. Humanity\, the courtroom becomes a battleground for the soul of the digital age. When social media is put on trial for crimes against connection\, truth\, and empathy\, a colorful parade of influencers\, tech execs\, trolls\, truthers\, and nostalgic mascots take the stand. Presided over by no-nonsense Judge Rowena March and fueled by the sass of Bailiff Jeanine\, this fast-paced satire throws today’s online culture under a magnifying glass—where every like\, post\, and swipe is fair game. From “content is cardio” gym-fluencers to conspiracy-loving moms who think Finland is fake\, the characters speak in memes\, TED talks\, and hashtags—but their stakes couldn’t be more real. \nPart courtroom comedy\, part social commentary\, and all chaos\, Social Media v. Humanity asks a provocative question: if we could hit “delete” on the entire online world… would we? Should we?

SUMMARY:6th Annual Hillary's Hope for Hunger Food Drive
DESCRIPTION:Hillary was such a light for everyone who knew her and her presence remains forever with the ones who love her. She had a heart as big as her personality and would never turn a blind eye to someone struggling\, despite the struggles she faced herself.\n\nWe want to continue to honor this memory of her in a way we know she would appreciate\, by focusing on one of the many contributing factors that impact mental health.\nToo many people are struggling to put food on the table for them and their family every single day\, not knowing how they will provide their next meal. Too many children go to sleep hungry and have to go to school worrying about when they will eat next while knowing some of their peers can’t even imagine that life. These are people we know\, people we work with\, people we see every day in our community. These are children you teach\, coach and watch your kids play with.\n\nSo\, MARK YOUR CALENDARS AGAIN as this year will be the 6th Annual “Hillary’s Hope for Hunger” food drive. Please come help us celebrate and honor her memory by helping fellow members of our community   The food drive will on Main Street in front of the Multicultural Center.\n\nLike every year\, all proceeds will be donated directly to our local food bank in St. George.\n\nWe are always grateful and always blown away by the success of this event every year\, with combined food and cash donations totaling well over $120\,000.\n\nWe hope this year can be just as successful\, but even helping one family makes a world of difference.\n\nIf you would like to contribute to a cause dear to our hearts\, we will be located at the food bank pantry on Main Street in St. George and accepting food/cash donations from 11 am – 2pm. If you can’t make it that day but still want to help\, we will also be accepting donations by e-transfer to Patty’s email: Lthsekpr@nb.sympatico.ca and we ask anyone donating via e-transfer to please make your security answer 2026.\n\nWe hope that if you can\, you will take a few minutes out of your Saturday and prove again that we are a community strong. Especially in times like these\, we need to take care of each other.
